We have  "adopted"   Marines in 10 - 15  Companies  serving in OIF & OEF some of whom  get little or no mail. We are currently sending out 100  packages   per month and would like to continue to do so for the duration. We  need your help!!!  These are men & women  who are  uncomfortable, fighting, and ..... dying in service to their country and  I would like to provide  comfort & a piece of "home" during  their deployments. For some of them, this may be the last act of kindness that they will  ever see. As units rotate home, we adopt more and plan to continue doing so indefinitely.   This is about SUPPORT  not just  STUFF. A letter from you, your children or  the kids at church or school is THE BEST THING to send. A show of personal support is one of the most priceless items to a Marine serving in the Middle East.

Please help us show “Our” Marines we  care !!

 More Pics Of "Your" Marines

From Your Marines -

TF 3/2 HQ CO 17 Oct - living conditions are less than adequate but better than other in other Ao's. We live in pre existing buildings where water is not potable. We have electricity , 220 and have minimal capacity to convert to 110 - Not enough converters to support all that occupy this AO
There are a couple of DVD players around and TV's to watch movies.

I am representing 2.5 Companies of Marines

Health/comfort items, snacks, DVD's (used are good too), Att Phone Cards.

I am from the great State of Tx and our unit is from Camp Lejeune, NC.

3/2 WPNS Co. CAAT/C  25 Oct - Well what to send for my section? Things are fairly rough out here and we don't get many opportunities to go to the main base which is a 6 hour drive.

The guys would like Raman noodles to cook in our MRE heater packets. Dip and cigarettes are a big thing, possibly the biggest problem we have out here. We also need laundry detergent for when we do get the chance to do laundry

All the guys are asking for head lamps for at night and movies. That is about the only thing that breaks up the tension around here when we do relax. Whoever does send anything , please attach your e mail so I can send you pictures of when we get it

Task Force 3/5  07 Jan- Currently it  is the  cold  season here and the Marines are doing fine. WE do not have the normal luxuries of PX available to all the Marines and most of the Marines are living in the city. I am appreciative of all that you do and the following items are requested:

white socks, babywipes, microwavable items, chocolate, coffee, gum, books, school supplies to pass out to the Iraqi kids, soccer balls, ping pong balls , paddles, tooth brushes, towels, magazines.

Thank you again for your support. Remember, your freedom is safe with the Marines of 3/5!

I MEF G-1 JRC   11 Jan -   We live in tents and it is usually freezing at night. The Marines need bedspreads or blankets to keep warm at night. We have electricity, 220 and the Marines have alarm clocks that are useless because of the voltage difference. They are looking for converters. Hygiene gear is also needed. Books, CD's and games to keep moral up would be good too!

MTT 123 - 07 Dec - I am a member of a Mobile Training Team stationed with an Iraqi Bn. Believe it or not, we are fairly comfortable here but would LOVE to hear from the folks back home. Pen pals and e mail buddies. If you want to send things to us, candies are always nice and so are hygiene items like baby wipes and toothbrushes.

What would really be nice would be things that we can give out to the kids on our patrols. We are helping to knock out terrorists one child at a time. Every friend we make now is one less enemy in the future. If you could only see these kids' smiling faces when I give them a chocolate bar or football or soccer ball.. it just makes your heart melt!

You don't hear about all the good we are doing here on the news. This is my little way of saying it here.

1/8 Alpha Co  21 Nov - We live in a forward operating base that doesn't have toilets or running water so we need babywipes. We have electricity but only 220. We are living in a building now but get moved around frequently. We have no microwaves. It's getting cold here so the turret gunners could use some tan colored neck gators to pull up over their faces.

A lot of us don't get mail that often so it would just be nice to receive something. We would appreciate any letters mail or packages. Thank you for your support.

BTT #222    23 Oct - Hello, We are Marines from various commands in Ca & Arizona setting up a command outpost in Iraq. We predominately eat MRE's and have limited "chowhall" that is only available for certain meals on certain days. We have electricity in the building. We have only 1 washer and one dryer on the entire outpost and we do our own laundry. We have A microwave but no other way to cook food

We shouldn't need any clothes, perhaps, just some warm socks for the upcoming cold weather. We are expecting cold and ice soon!

We ask that you send us some goodies from home and letters. Any magazines, food snacks, DVDs, games, microwavable meals, coffee, anything to give us a taste of home.

We do not have the resources to cook any meals (other than cup of noodles and other microwavable items.)

We've had to start this command outpost from scratch. We have built our own furniture and we sleep on cots in various rooms of an abandoned building. For most of us, this is our first time in Iraq. A few of us have been here or Afghanistan 3 or 4 times but none of us have been here in this capacity before.

After going through extreme heat the past couple of months, we are now experiencing a few storms of rain .. signs of a cold winter ahead.
Any "taste" of home would be nice as e mail/internet is difficult to access here

1-30 IN Bn, k-9 MP - 21 Nov - My name is Cpl Webb and I am stationed out of Camp Lejeune. I am a K - 9 handler and I live with 4 other handlers. My dog's name is Dollar and he is a 3 year old German Shepard. I live in a tent and have electricity. The only food items that I can think of to request could be "add water noodles of any brand, trail mix, Protein Bars, Nature Valley Bars, peanuts and Beef Jerky. I am also asking for toiletry items, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, cold remedies, q tips, shaving cream and dental floss.

Also, if possible, tube socks for the cold weather and the 1 size fits all black knit gloves and long sleeve, non collared shirts.

Dogs treats are also welcomed, the dogs would definitely like that.
Thank you to whoever reads this. It means so much to know that there are caring people out there who understand and who still support us. Just a letter would make us happy. From All of us at FOB Falcon K 9, thank you .  Cpl Webb

MALS-29 AVI w/c 620 - 18 Oct - All is good here in                      Iraq. My shop keeps putting gear out as fast as we get it in. I love what I do and I really want to thank you for how you help us through a time when friends and family are so far away. Every time when my  Marines and I get         something, I feel like I just added another friend in my life. I just want to say thank you again -   Semper Fidelis  - Cpl Russell

25 Aug 07 - To whom it may concern, my name is Cpl Russell, Andres. First off I have to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing what you all do. Your support and dedication of the Armed Forces while they are deployed is very much appreciated. I am currently in Iraq. I've been here for a few weeks now all is good. There are a few necessities and luxuries that are not available for me and my Marines such as baby wipes, soap, shampoos, foot powder, protein bars, boot socks, deodorant . These are some of the needs of my Marines. I look forward in keeping in touch and posting pictures soon

BTT 4221 -  We are currently part of a transition and are alone and unafraid . We live in tents with power but need things like dried fruit, beef jerky and new DVD's that we are missing being over here. We are here training the Iraqi Army to be able to stand alone so we can transition out of the country. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. -  Gysgt Moorefield

Your Marines (and their Families) Send Their Thanks ....

Thanks From The Marines at FOB Falcon

26 Dec 07 - Dear Dianne,  I can't begin to tell you how special of a person you are!! You put such an effort into making our lives just a little easier while we are over here and I can't say thank you enough. All the guys love to read what you have going on in your "what sounds like a busy nonstop life" to have enough time to get all these packages together. Let me say that the packages definitely help and make the guys happy. They just like knowing that they have a box to open with stuff they need inside.

I'm sorry that I haven't got to you sooner, but I've been a little busy. To say the least.... I just wanted to drop you a line a say that you are a wonderful person and are so appreciated. You make us smile and that's a hard thing to do over here. We just want to say thank you for all that you have done. Oh, before I forget.... the pictures you sent are great. I like to see all the people who support us. It's also good to see the "person behind the box" lol... Keep the letters and pictures coming? We love em :)

From all of here at the k-9 unit of FOB FALCON... Thank you so very much. We hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Timothy  CPL/USMC

P.S. Next time I'm in ST. Pete Beach we'll have to PT together. I'm getting out of shape here. lol     OOOOOOORAH!!!!

1/8 ISF Cell Sends Their Thanks!!

18 Dec 07 - OORAH Motivator!  Well, Dianne, first, let’s start by thanking you and every one who helped you support the Marines out here in hell. Forget about what we trained and get paid to do, let’s talk about the outstanding work that you have done for us. These care packages and letters that you are sending out have put smiles on the faces of my war torn and weary marines that I didn’t think I would ever see again.

Dianne, I cannot possibly think of anything else you could do to support us, not saying it cannot be done, but rather I lack the imagination. With the support that we received, I can hardly jump in the rack to get some zzz’s. We are seriously out numbered by the amount of people sending packages to the number of jarheads I have. If there is anyone else out there that ever needed anything I will find them and hook them up for sure. Dianne, I could not possibly accept another gift from you while there are still leathernecks who could use the overwhelming support. All we guys over here in the sandbox say we love you so much and everyone else for all that YOU do for us and we would honorably defend the great country that we live. For as long as there are citizens like you all, there will always be a Devil dog ready to serve.            Semper Fidelis,   Thank you too much - Brandon

1/8 Alpha Co HQ Plt Too!!

8 Dec 07 - Dianne,  I am a Marine in A co 1/8 and received one of your packages from my buddy  and I wanted to personally thank you for the things you do for us over here in the sandbox.

In the package I  received allot of letters from students at the Deer Park Elementary School. I would like to write them back and tell them all thanks personally, even if it is in one latter addressed to them all. I was touched the most by the fact that these kids knew that we aren't soldiers, but Marines and it just made me want to say thanks.

Looking at your (myspace) profile i see that you have a special place in your heart for us Marines, especially us grunts. I want to say thank you to no end from the bottom of my heart and I am sure you will hear from me again.    LCpl Brown 0341

The 3/23 Too!

19 Nov 07 - Howdy Dianne, My name is Michael and I am a Cpl in the Marines My job is carrying the radio around on patrols. Right now I am a driver for the JUMP team, we take the Battalion Commander everywhere he needs to go and provide security for him as well.

I just wanted to say thank you soooooooo much for the packages and things. It really makes us all feel special to know that there are those back home who care. Thanks so much from all of us on the JUMP team in 3/23.

It's been tough and I have had some of the best times and some of the worst times in my life but in the end I am better for it.

So, thanks again to your group and to you for all of your hard work and the great pictures. Please tell all of those who helped  you along the way we appreciate all of their hard work as well.

As for things we need, we don't need much. Maybe some laundry detergent, some small pots (8"), some workout gloves, protein bars and maybe some little metal tea kettles  or electric water boilers I am the only guy in the platoon who has a CD players so maybe a few mixed CD's would be great  Also those things for back pain are very helpful. Oh, and maybe some more pictures, please

Happy Thanksgiving  Semper Fidelis

Thanks From The Heroes Of The 3/3 India Co

My name is Gunnery Sergeant O'Connell with India Co 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines. . I just wanted to say thank you for everything that you have done for the Marines. Everything that has been sent has been put to good use and the Marines are truly appreciative of your efforts. It's always nice to receive something from "home". If there's anything you want to know or have questions feel free to drop me a line. Thank you again.

10 Nov 07   Dear Ms. Villano, I wanted to write to you and express my appreciation for your care packages. The Marines thoroughly enjoyed all of the goodies, letters and pictures that you sent us. I put your pictures on our office hallway wall. We are truly blessed to have the support of Americans back home like you and your group.

We are currently in our fifth month of an eight month deployment and things are going extremely well here. We have not had anyone seriously injured and the enemy in our area has been routed. Regardless of what you hear on the news, we are winning this war and the final victory is truly within sight. My company is currently tasked with counter insurgency operations and with training and developing Iraqi Security forces. They have attacked these tasks with gusto and their indomitable spirits carrying the day. The insurgents are cleared out of our area and the Iraqi Police are assuming more and more responsibility for the security in their area.

Marines of Company I are a special group of men. They have chosen to serve their country and their service often demands sacrifice of which their fellow Americans are neither fully aware nor can they fully appreciate. It is my honor to lead and serve Marines like these. They are truly incredible men. They are from every race, religion and economic group. There is one thing however that links us all together - the brotherhood of being Marines. The Eagle, Globe and Anchor is tattooed on the heart of each one and they all have Semper Fidelis coursing through their veins. They are fiercely patriotic and fanatically devoted to one another. We are honored to serve our country and it's people and you cannot know how proud we are to have the support of those like you who appreciate the freedoms that our great nation provides.

My Marines and I have greatly enjoyed all of your packages and we appreciate your generosity and that of your group.

We thank you again for your packages and hope  you and your group enjoy a Merry Christmas.    Semper Fidelis  John , Captain, USMC

24 Nov 07 - Happy Thanksgiving!!! I know it's late but its the first time I have been on the computer in a while so I just want to let you know I am very thankful of you and every one else that supports us over here!!

I got the t-shirts and they were amazing!! Thank you so much and my guys love them!! I had a guy that loves motorcycles so I told him the story behind the Harley shirts and he was pretty stoked.   Thank you so much again!!!

16 Nov 07 - You are very welcome!! We do our jobs not because we are forced to but because we choose to, that is was I think i very special about the troops of overseas.  Again I'm just so thankful there are people like your self and everyone that wrote a quick thank you below that love to show their support!!!

I got your package, it was awesome, I know you are thinking it wasn’t a lot but anything counts and my guys loved everything and nothing when to waste.  I can’t wait till the T-shirts arrive!!!

31 Oct 07 – Hi Dianne, My name is Cogen  and I one of Cpt ’s squad leaders.  I noticed all the pictures you sent and they were quite awesome. I am from Florida, up in Lake County so its cool when I see pictures and stuff from back home.  I just wanted to say thank you for the little bit of home!!! I was also wondering if you could see if some of the police departments could donate some shirts for me and my guys? Its nice to get out of the everyday shirts that we wear.  We could take some pictures in them and send them back to you. Just a thought. Thank you again for everything you have sent to us over here.

Thanks From The Heroes Of the 1/10  HQ Btry

28 Oct 07 - Dianne, I am just writing to say thank you, to you and everyone supporting us. You all are the ones that make this worthwhile! I am also from Florida, born and raised in Miami so it touches me real close to see the people from my own beautiful state supporting us. Thank you again, and please keep in touch.
Always faithful, Marvin

 Thanks From 1/1 Bravo

Yes, they are the same 1/1 Bravo who we  Supported Last Year

19 Nov 07 - Mrs. Dianne, I'm the company 1stSgt for Bravo 1/1.  We just received some of your letters and boxes that you have send out to Marines out here in Iraq. I just wanted to give you my personal thanks for all you do and to the rest of the community.  Marines in my company appreciate that we still have people back home who care for them.     Thanks,     C.A.  Bravo Co 1/1

16 Nov 07 - HEY, Dianne - Just wanted to say thank you on behalf of 3rd platoon Bravo Company 1/1. We are one of the beneficiaries of your thoughtful packages. Just so you know it means a lot people care about us out here, especially those who don't receive as much support as they should.

Anyway thanks again. The Marines read your letter and were interested in telling you thank you themselves. We have pictures up (those that don't violate OPSEC) on myspace accounts as it is how must of the guys communicate. I'm going to give them your email and try to pass on theirs to you as all you have to do is "search" on the myspace page and put in their email address and it will take you to their page. it has pictures and is a little more "get to know you" The op tempo for my platoon is demanding so I'm not sure when that might be, but at least wanted to get the thank you out. Take Care. SEMPER FI -  Conor  USMC, 1/1 Bravo

And... The 1/1….  Charlie Co (they are an awfully polite unit, no?)

15 Oct 07 - Dianne, Hello there.  Thank you so much for the show of support from you and your friends.  My Marines and I really appreciate the kindness you showed us.  I received two boxes from you and an envelope.  I hope you and all the others that gave to us are doing well.  We are doing fine out here.  e will continue to do, what we do, because of people like you and your team of supporters.  We are proud to fight for the likes of you.  Thank you once again for what you do.  Take care.  Semper Fidelis,    1stSgt A

18 Dec 07

Dianne, Hello there.  I hope this letter finds you and all of your helpers doing well.  We are all doing fine out here. We are getting anxious about coming home sometime in February.  Don't worry, we are still concentrating on our missions, but home is on our minds.  We are really grateful for all that you and your helpers have done for us.  Because of your efforts, we have not had to worry about any toiletries or snacks, that makes life out here a lot easier.  You, Barb and the others have done so much for us, we can never thank you enough.  I personally really appreciate all that you have done for my Marines.  I receive your packages and distribute them among my five platoons, over a hundred and fifty Marines and Sailors.  They are always blown away with the gifts we have received.  You, Barb and all of your helpers are truly Angels to us.

Our deployment started off really hard, we lost three of our Brothers due to the enemy, but we managed to stay strong and come together as a family.  Your contributions to us have helped us all cope with this, so once again, Thank you.

We did have a good, peaceful Thanksgiving Day.  My Commanding Officer and I, took a nice turkey dinner out to our Marines and Sailors that are working out of remote sights, we have three sites spread across our area of operation.  We served them dinner and sat with them for a while, it was a good day.

You have asked me to let you know what we could use, to be honest with you, the only real necessity now is socks (black crew) or olive green.  We are starting to wind down our deployment and because of your efforts, snacks and hygiene products are all taken care of for the remainder of the deployment.  Thank you, we just need clean new socks for our return trip home.  Thank you for everything.

I have attached a picture of one of my Platoons on Thanksgiving Day.  I am the one kneeling first one on the left.  Semper Fidelis, 1st Sgt A

More Thanks from The 1/1 C Co, 4th Plt checking In…

18 Oct 07 - Al Anbar Province, Iraq - Dear Dianne, Hello from the Sandbox. I wanted to write and thank you for your overwhelming support for my men over here. I am a platoon commander for Charlie Co 1/1 and received your goodies via  1st Sgt Artalejo.  My boys and I are currently living with a group of Iraqi Police at their station and really appreciate the taste of home you sent. I've trained my guys to be humble and appreciate what they have so anything outside the norm of MREs and water is always a welcome bonus.

We all liked the pictures too!  Looks like you've been busy keeping morale up. Nice Oorah shorts. Oorah back atcha.  I've been in this "gunclub" for 12 years (I was enlisted before) and it does my heart good to know that their are patriots such as you and your group  so selflessly dedicated to our cause. I appreciate you and your group immensely as you make my job easier by making our lives better

 Sincerely,  Justin

14 Dec 07 - Dianne, Again, I want to thank you for your tireless dedication, and for all that you've done for me and the boys over these past few months.  I got your package with the kids clothes also.

When we were living with the Iraqi Police, there was a house nearby that had a little girl that lived there that would come out and greet me with a hug and a kiss every time I patrolled by there.  Part of my job now is instead of working with one station, I am in charge of going around to all of the police stations in our AO and conducting training and making sure they get the logistical support they need.

So every day or so I pass by that little girl's house, and she still remembers me, and welcomes me every time.  I couldn't think of a better person that I wanted to give the stuff you sent to, so I did.  And believe me, she and her family was very grateful.  You make me look good!!  I have enclosed some pictures for you as well.  Hope you enjoy them, and again, thank you for all you've done.  You are a magnificent human being and true patriot.  I salute you.          Semper Fi, Justin

And  .... MiTT Team 9

Dianne, Just wanted to drop you a line and say that I received your package complete with photos.  I also received the two accompanying boxes from St Pete Beach.  Thank You so much.  Firstly, it means a lot to get mail, and it doesn't hurt that the mail is fleshed out with goodies.  A taste of home brings a measure of familiarity that sometimes is lost in these unfamiliar places.

We have been deployed here since December 2006. Honestly, I don't need any more, and I end up giving away most of it to the other Marines on the team, or sometimes to the Iraqi Soldiers I work with.

I wanted to tell you a little about who we are and what is happening here. We live/eat/sleep/fight with our Iraqi Brethren.  Throughout the course of this year we have experienced a great deal of change here.  Upon our arrival last December, the security situation was awful, and at my particular location in the city of Hit, we could not walk outside during the day due to the sniper threat.  Over the course of this year, we have managed to concurrently chip away at the insurgency and develop the Iraqi Army and Police.  They are well on their way to being an independent Army, which means the US Forces are well on their way to getting back home.  Success isn't measured daily, but it is happening.  Believe the hype about Al Anbar; it is very much true.  Businesses are open and kids are playing in the streets!  I know that often times, folks back in the states receive only a version of what is happening.  But like Paul Harvey, I am here to give you the Rest of the Story

Again, I just wanted to convey to you and the rest of the Care Package Team at St Pete Beach our deepest thanks, and also let you know that your efforts in supporting us are making a difference in our mission, and the effects are tangible.   Adam

GySgt Lynch Sends His Thanks (again) This Time from the 2/9 , MSF A

Dianne, Good to hear that you got the flags. You have been a dedicated supporter of us and many other units throughout this war.  Hope all is going well for you back on the home front in sunny Florida; I look forward to heading home next month.   I enjoy it though; half percent of one percent of our population of 300 plus million actually do what we do.  So I enjoy being part of that percentage that helps preserve what is rightfully ours, our freedoms.  Again I thank you for all that you do; it does make a difference I assure you.   Semper Fi,

 1/3 H & S Co Sends Their Thanks....

Dianne, You have all been absolutely amazing in your support of Task Force 1/3. I really do not know how to thank you. Your generosity has truly made life better for all the Marines in this unit.

It means a lot to all of us to know that you feel strongly enough about our cause to go to the lengths that you do to support us with such wonderful packages.

Western Iraq continues to improve; you have my word on that.  We are crushing the insurgency with the help of Iraqis who don't want to live under the savagery of Al Qaeda.  The women here are still treated like dirt, but it is going to take decades to change that.  The Marines are trying with a number of initiatives that include forming women's groups that meet with the city councils and mandating female representation in
the city and provincial government.

My replacement is on deck and I am turning over information and techniques to him at this time.
Thank you all once again for your generosity. If I make it out to Florida, I will drop you a line.  I would love to take you out to dinner to meet my family.    Sincerely, Eric……

15 August 07 - Dianne,  Thank you so much for your patriotism and overwhelming generosity.  Your care packages were so special and obviously very much from the heart.  The Marines loved everything.

In the meantime we just keep trying to keep the terrorists out of the population centers.  This has been easy so far, because the people are actually on our side.

They tell us when Al Qaeda is in town and we take care of things .  The trouble right now is deep in the desert where there are no people to tell us where the bad guys are hiding.  We will get them though.

Take care and thanks again.  Eric

10 July 07 - Dianne, Thank you for all of your support. The letter and pictures were nice for us to see. It is sometimes hard to remember our world still exists. Thank you for the reminder. I like the post card as well. St Pete Beach looks and sounds like a lot of fun but I don't know if it would handle a squad full of Marines on a Friday night.. Just kidding. We're "good boys".

I am here in Haditha, Iraq. I don't know if you know the place or not. Right now, I am working with both the IA and IP. I am living here in the city with 2 other Marines. We live in a house about 7 blocks from the FOB and down the road from the IP Station. We have a lot of contact with the Iraqis and the IA & IP so your packages are going a long way. I hope you understand how great a thing you and your friends are doing. These people here have nothing especially the children so any little gift or generosity is very special to them (and to us).

Okay, anyway, I can go on all day.  I don't want to talk your ears off. I just don't want to let you know that you are a real sweetheart, it's not every day someone you  don't know know writes  you letters, sends great pictures and tries to give you things like you and your friends are doing.

If you have any question about us, just let me know. It's nice to just step back from here and read or write a letter. Thank you again, - Morgan

MALS 29 PP 440 Sending Thanks ...

Miss Villano, I am very excited that such

a patriotic group of people have chosen to adopt my group of Marines. It feels good to know that others share our love for our country. It helps keep morale high just knowing that our country men and women are supporting us.
Thanks for sending the pictures, it's nice to have a face to go along with the packages. I may not be able to write a whole lot but I hope you realize who much it means to me.

As a Sgt in the Marines, my most important job is to care for and look out for the welfare of my Marines. With help from you and your group, you help make this huge responsibility easier.

There are about 10 of us here that came with me and  another 10 or 15 of us are only here for 8 months. In a nutshell we are helicopter mechanics - We also do a lot of work with composites.

Well, I won't bother you any longer, thank you for your letter, pictures and packages  - Thomas

Region 2 BTT  As Well  ..

Ms. Villano,  Thank you for the kind words of hope and inspiration.  There are many people who said they would stand by us, but failed to come through.  You and and a select few have been with us all the way.  Thank you for your full support.

A little about us.  We are a group of ten Marines and one navy corps man working in Tikrit.  Our Border Transition Team (BTT) was composed in Camp Lejeune, NC.  We were tasked to train and advice a brigade of Iraqi Border Police (IBP).  We work with Region 2 IBP, who is in charge of all eastern border forts, or points of entry.  Our support is limited as we stand out of the Marine area of operation.  The army 25th Combat Aviation Brigade helps us a little, but we're like the adopted children.  Supplies and gear are hard to come by, and we do with what we have without complains.

I know you said that you have some packages coming our way, and I want to personally thank you for your kindness and for thinking about a small group of Marines in Tikrit.

I included a picture.  I think it helps put a face behind the name.  I hope you find time to send one also so I can put it on our "Great Americans Wall".  May God bless you.   Jose

11 Oct - Miss Villano, Hello Ma'am. I'm 19 years . I'm a Corporal in the Marine Corps. I've been reading the letters and things that you have been sending to SSgt Fischer. I work for SSgt Fischer. It was nice to be able to finally put faces to all of the packages and letters. You are a truly amazing person for doing what you do. You and your group are just amazing. It is greatly appreciated by myself and my Marines. Thank You!! Though I don't know you, it is great to open your letters and things and smell "home" .

You bring a great uplifting presence to our situation. You see, I haven't felt as good in a week  as I did today when we got your mail. Earlier this month I lost a good friend Ben Rosales. He was killed by an IED. (roadside bomb)  God rest his soul. So, these letters and things make me feel better because it makes it seem as though what we do over here isn't being forgotten. I don't mean to burden you with my pain. We truly love you and people like you , Miss Villano. Thank you Again for everything  you do !

I will be 20 next month. ON the 10th - The Marine Corps Birthday  OORAH! While out here in Iraq not only will we miss birthdays, we'll also miss things like Halloween, Thanksgiving, New Years, Christmas, Valentine's Day, St Patrick's Day and a few others in there. While cannot share the enthusiasm with you, it is great to see a beautiful smile like yours and our supporters. It is wonderful people like you that drive me so hard to do what I do. I cannot thank you and everyone else enough. THANK YOU!  I cannot wait to hear back from you .       Semper Fidelis  Justin

& The Men of the 3rd LAR

8/13 – Dear Dianne, I bet you are wondering how I am typing you a letter if  I am in Iraq. Well, that is an interesting story. I have staples in my skull and was told to take it easy for a couple of days. I am not going to bore you with the details so don’t worry about that. I am a radio operator for Apache Company. I made a promise to myself in bootcamp that I would never disrespect myself or my Marine Corps by talking badly. My wifey back home is going to have our baby in a couple of months. Can you believe it that the due date is Nov. 10 – the birthday of the Marine Corps. I hear that you can make wishes come true big or small. Well, here is my wish. There is a mini series out there that I think can bring us all out here closer together. It is called Band of Brothers.  I tried to get it before l left for Iraq but the PX was sold out.  Dianne, if you could make this wish come true for me, I would really appreciate it –the Marines with me would Appreciate it. I  cant tell Tell you how many times we get pulled to the rear to take it easy for a day and we get to see one movie as a group. Every one is thinking the same thing…. I wish this moment would never end. Then an hour and a half later it does. Please write me back and share some news from the states. Take care and keep doing what you are doing. We need more Americans like you supporting us. You are my hero.  Thanks for your support –     Ronald

May 18 -Dianne, thanks so much for the letter and care packages. I do not have regular access to the internet but please know that your efforts are very much appreciated. The pics of those that support us was motivating. More soon

Semper Fidelis -

Aug 18 -Dianne, we are extremely fortunate to have been adopted by you and your supporters. Your support is invaluable.  As for additional items, you mentioned i pods and of course we would be thrilled, it just seems too much to ask. You hit the nail on the head with the babywipes !! Please pass our sincere   THANKS to all those that have rallied to your cause. For many, this is the first time that they have been thanked for their service.  Semper Fidelis -

9/25 To the fine Americans that supported my Marines –

Hello again, this time from California.

Just one last email to sincerely thank you all for the awe inspiring support you provided to my men and I over the course of the last seven months.  As we made our way back from our austere little company forward operating base to the United States it became more and more apparent how much your support meant to us.  My Marines rarely had access the post exchanges and other amenities available to service members at the lager bases we passed through (some places actually have Burger Kings!).  Although we always had what we needed the steady supplies of hygiene items, snacks, and other items you provided ensured we had what we wanted.  More importantly, it showed that we were supported.  For you kindness and generosity I can not thank you enough.

I am pleased to inform you that my Marines and I arrived back in the United States .  Upon our arrival a group of civilian motorcycle riders greeted us and escorted us back to 29 Palms where we were reunited with family and friends. Along the way a number of citizens helf US flags and waved as we passed as well. Needless to say, it was a very exciting day and although it takes a little getting use to not being around “my boys” it sure felt good to get them back to their families.

Your patriotism and kindness made a difference.

The Guys of 1St Tank Bn Charlie Co (and their wives) Send.…. Thanks From Iraq

Good Evening, Dianne - I don't know you and you don't know me but that is what makes this so special. I would like to thank you on behalf of Marine Wives out here for your support to our troops, in particular to our husbands. My husband sent me the e-mail you sent them and I am sure it made them feel very good. They need all the motivation they can get. Life out there is very hard. I had a package sent to my husband's unit this last week and everything that you mentioned is on the right track, especially the Maxim magazines. :)- I usually send my husband a package every week and I know he shares it with his guys. Let me know if there is anything I can do from here in California, maybe I can get in touch with other companies that are willing to donate some cool stuff for our troops. Thank you again! With much gratitude,   Nelly

7/26    Well Mrs. Villano, everything here is great. You and your crew have been pivotal in keeping up our spirits. My wife IS a great Marine wife, she keeps me happy even out here, she sends me whatever I need (which is why I’ve never asked for anything) and drops me letter quite often. She is holding down the fort back home and learning to be independent. I hear that you have communicated with here. She tells me that she is very glad to see that other people care about us just as much as she does and showers you and your town with accolades of gratitude. Thank you for being so wonderful to us. If I may ask, what made you take an interest in us? Just wondering because charity and benevolence of this degree is very uncommon now a days. Either way, thank you so very much for all you do for us, it does not go unnoticed.

Thanks again, and, if there is anything we can do for you, please ask.

6/24/06  Hello to everyone, The Marines of Charlie Co have enjoyed the abundance of cards, letters and goodies. We have been, busy, busy, busy and no one has had much personal time or rime to be bored. I did not realize 2 months went by already. We always look forward to mail call, sometimes it is a days worth of mail and thank you for keeping the Marines in Mind. We can always count on something for that one Marine who had a no mail day. I have been asking for the guys to write back to you all, especially if they are from your states. Thanks again.
Semper Fidelis

10 Oct -   Hey, I thought I should let you know that I will be leaving this paradise real soon and will be in CONUS. I wanted to tell you first and foremost that you have been an inspiration to us all out here and that your generosity and hard work made our time out here much more bearable. I can not thank you enough for all that you have done. Having said that, I would like to extend to you, on behalf of 1st Tank Bn. (REIN) Charlie Company, a heartfelt thank you and may god bless you and your crew for all your efforts. I would love it, as would they, if you could continue your fight back home as you did for us and keep them in your prayers and in your hearts as they will face the same dangers as we did. Their address has changed (UNIT address is different) and as such, the same address will not work. I will send you the info ASAP. In the meantime, here is their Maint Chief’s email address, he will be your POC for anything related to “ANY MARINE”.    We are forever in your debt.

The Men of 2nd TANK BN TOWS / AT PLT   Send Their Thanks

25 July – Dianne, Thank you so much for your package. My Marines love to pick out their favorite items or just things they want. I know it makes home seem a little closer when you know people are thinking of  us. The pic on the postcard is great. It reminds me of my daughter. She just had her 1st birthday!! We could use some hygiene supplies and snacks  are always great !!     Michael

And The  Men of  9th ESB (-) Forward

 6/21/06 Well hello Dianne,

You kindly sent us a package and some pictures.  I can’t tell you how much we appreciate the package and your efforts.  I have five Marines under me and a couple of them do not get a lot of mail.  I wish you could see their faces when I give them a package to open up.  It’s like Christmas every week for them.  I am sorry to hear that you lost a loved one during the attacks on 9-11 and I just wanted you to know that what you are doing is surely making us appreciate what we do.  People like you make it worth going through what we do on a daily basis.  I can’t tell you how many times I prayed for god to give me a normal life but instances like this make worth while.

I am from  Nebraska and my Marines are all from Utah, North Dakota, New York (The Sticks), Alabama, and the last one I can’t remember.  We are all apart of an Engineer Battalion and our mission here is road clearance and construction of observation points for the Iraqi Army. We have been out here since February and we have been fortunate to have only lost two Marines. One of which was a female.  Her name was Lcpl Navarro and she was apart of our security team here. One day when they were out on a mission a sniper took aim and ended her life. The other was a Gunnery Sergeant that was apart of out Ordinance Disposal team that was hit with an IED. Well, I just want you to know that we all thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  Take care an I hope to hear from you soon.  Feel free the E-mail me anytime and pass on a message to the guys.  Zach

And The Men Of 1/1 Bravo Co.   Sorry for not getting back with you sooner. I have been taking care of memorials for 4 of my Marines and a translator over the past month and I live out of the main base camp. The Marines and I do appreciate al that the program has given and supplied our company. It has meant the world to all of us. News of the outside is an up beat of motivation to all. The Marines and I have been conducting long operations to find the bad guys to round up and bring in for questioning. They have done an outstanding job and love you all for what you give and send us. We are getting to the end of deployment though so if I don't get back to you thank you from the heart of our souls. We love and miss you    Semper Fi , 1/ 1Bravo Co

Hello Dianne, I just wanted to take a moment to let you know everything you are doing for us out here    is fantastic.  It is the highlight of the day sometimes for these Marines.  I know that the Marines under my care have loved and appreciated every package you sent to us.  They might not have written to you but they did enjoy the paper booklet you sent out of all the contributors.  It was also great to see the smiling faces on all of you.  The Marines have worked extremely hard out here to ensure the freedom for the Iraqi people.    You should feel proud as well for you have made it happen also.  Keep the Motivation coming and I wish you the best.      Semper Fi  “Always faithful”    God Bless  T. W.

Dianne, we do not need any more of your great and thoughtful help. We are or will be heading home shortly. I especially thank all of St Pete Beach for everything you have sent us. It has helped extremely.  The Marines have been out of contact for the most part, they have made phone calls home  but time has been short. They have put many hours in patrolling.  I want to thank you myself Also.   -

 Dianne,
Thanks for the e-card. I really appreciate it. Here is a picture of all of us after the ceremony. I did it a little different than most. However, we had fun doing it. That is what matters the most though. You and your friends
are my heroes because of all that you do for us while we are here.
How are things going for you? I hope that all is well. Tell everyone thank you for me and Semper Fi.  Tim

13 Mar -  Things are getting busier, each batch of letters that I receive I pass out to the Marines so that everyone has a chance to get mail.  I do let them know that they do need to respond so that you know that they we as a whole are appreciative of your efforts. Some of the Marines have made some nice pen pals and started some great relationships with them.

Thank you for the coffee and the mugs! They were great ad everyone that got one was happy about getting one. The marines and I would like to get some sugar for the coffee being sent. IF there is a possibility of it being sent. Also, can we get some magazines and puzzles? Thank you for your support!! I think that y'all are the heroes because of all of the support that you give to us. Again, hygiene gear is always welcome. Again, thank you for your assistance and support. I will update soon.     Tim

Good Morning, Ms. Villano,    I am currently serving in Iraq.  We just receive your wonderful letter.  It really lifted our spirits.  I would like to take this opportunity to send a special thanks to everyone that is showing us support.  At times it seems like the support for the troops is decreasing.  Then out of no where great Americans such as yourself and your organization really show us that you are still behind us.  That we are still in peoples hearts, thoughts and prayers.  From the bottom of our hearts, Thank You!  We really appreciate everything you do for us.  Today I will get with our Marines and ask them if there is anything they might need to make things a little bit better for them while they are out here.  Once again thank you.  Feel free to contact me at any time.   Semper Fidelis,  Juan

And…… A Misc. Special Ops Group In Afghanistan Who Wound Up With Some Goodies By Default .. (we adopted them none the less)

Dear Dianne,
Your packages to any Marine has ended up on a Special Forces compound in Jalalabad Afghanistan. The Marines have just packed up and left to go home, and I guess we were the lucky benefactors of your generosity.

Thank you so much. We have used everything you sent either here or helping the local people in the surrounding villages, so many many lives were touched thanks to you and the team of folks around you.
We really need nothing here...there are a lot of 'wants', but we are really in need of nothing to accomplish our missions. I will tell you that it looks like Christmas around here with a bunch of Special Forces guys tearing into a box with a grin on their face and a twinkle in their eye. I would like to see that continue if it is alright with you... I will attach a picture of me at the girl's orphanage the other week.

Our job is a 50/50 mix of tension-filled missions and joy-filled missions. Kids are kids all around the world, but the little ones here are really special. Thanks again for the  love and support. It is so appreciated by all of us. Paul

The Guys of TF-49 BN Bravo Co  send………  Thanks From Iraq…

1-26-06 Hi Ms. Villano, How are you today, lets hope fine with you and the rest of your family , as for me and my Marines we are doing fine, moral is high among the Men considering our situation.

I received your letter two days ago, but I have not had the chance to reply soon enough. I have been going out on missions after missions trying to get the bad guys. Well enough of that stuff.

Anyways, I would like to thank you for taking your time to send us those kind words, and it also feels good hearing from someone from Florida, I'm from Pembroke pines Fl. As for the movies, any comedy or action flicks will do and for magazines FHM, Maxim or anything sports, one thing to keep in mind the youngest Marine here nineteen and the oldest is thirty seven, with that you can’t go wrong. I really appreciate what you are doing, it really made my day. People like you is what keeps us going day in day out. You make us feel that we are not forgotten and its good to know that there are people out there who really cares about us other than our families. Thank you for your support.   Garfield

1/27 Hi Dianne, I hope your day as been good so far, as for me and my guys we are doing OK, it is hard not to be in good spirit with all this support from back home.

I had a long day of 12 hours vehicle patrol in various Iraqi desert village's in our area of operation, but after coming back on the 'FOB', "forward operation base", I went straight to the MWR center to use the internet cafe to check my email, after reading your email  and viewing pictures of all the people that are supporting us, I wasn't really tired anymore, I wanted to respond right away to let you all know that we are humbled by the heart pouring support from you all. Also those blankets that are on the way will be greatly appreciated. The pictures you send are posted up on our bulletin board in the operation center, so everyone have seen them.

1/30  These are some of my guys, I will send you some more of pictures soon. I showed the pictures you send to my Marines, they were shocked to see all the support we were getting from home. I cant say thanks enough. About the socks, black boot socks not too thick and the white sports socks, razors and soap are items we always needed, canned goods and any type of food you have to be heated is not a good idea because the only microwave we have access too is the one at the chow hall.

2/5 Hi Dianne, How was your day? I hope you are having prosperous day so far. Well as for me today was one of the better days in Iraq so far. I had a good uninterrupted six hours of sleep today, so right now I'm well rested and ready for another uneventful night of patrolling in the Iraqi sand box. Also so today the 3 star general from MARFORCENT, (Marine Central Command), visit our 'FOB'  .So I am well rested with a full stomach what else in the world can I complain about today?, nothing.

Patrolling at night seems to be getting quiet in our AO, I think its because of the Hajj and the Islamic New Year at the end of January to the first week in February, less Iraqis or out at night, means less bad guys out also. Don't be mistaken me and my guys never let our guards down, we are always waiting for those infidels or are so called insurgency to show there true color, so Marines can do what they get pay to do!, that’s wacking bad guys.

Tell those supporters that we send our thanks, and that we really appreciate what they are doing far us. I want to thank you, Dianne and all for our support from St Pitts, and that we really appreciate everything you all are doing for us. Bravo Company sends it's love.            Garfield

 Dianne,

I appreciate the letter and the support and everything that you have not only done for the Marines here, but all Marines.  Your friend the retired LtCol is indeed right, however as i am sure he will tell you, we are always prepared to live and survive in environments such as this one.  Sorry to hear that you lost someone special in your life, I will tell you that even though it is not broadcast back in the states on the news,  we are delighted to be here doing what we do best.  There is not a day that goes by that we ever question why we are here, we are doing this for the Americans that we lost and will never forget, as well as our fighting men and women that we have lost in this fight.  It is indeed good to know that good spirited patriotic people such as yourself and those that are around you support what we are doing.  We are very hungry in our desire to not just defeat but to crush the will of these extremists, and to send a message to them that we will go wherever they are.

Some people spend a life time trying to make a difference and don’t.  The Marines do not have that problem.  (Ronald Reagan)  We are delighted to be here in this fight to defend our fellow Americans and send a strong message.  Thanks for all of your support, and thanks for being a patriotic American.      Semper Fidelis   John

Sept 11 2006

Dianne, I can only imagine that the lost of your loved one will never really bring closure, however I would think that it will always give you strength.  I appreciate all that you do for us and our fellow Marines, and I only wish that more of our fellow Americans were as thoughtful as you and your supporters.  You are all heroes in my book, and your convictions are real.  I am pretty positive that I speak on behalf of all Marines, we enjoy these hardships that we are enduring and experiencing, because we are destroying more of the enemy than any other force out there.  We that serve will never forget what it is we are fighting for, it is not only for those that lost there lives due to coward ness from an enemy that attacks people that have the inability to protect themselves, but as well for our fellow Marines that are the true heroes that have given there live in effort to protect that one and only thing that never has, never can be, and never will be legislated, and that is freedom.  We will continue to fight strong, and we will defeat those that want to cause us harm.  I wish you and your family and friends well, and will continue to endure the hardships as I have for the last fourteen years, for something I enjoy, and you and all of  our fellow Americans deserve.

Those who kill for fun are sadists,

Those who kill for money are professionals,

Those who kill for both are Marines.

 Semper Fi.   John

And The Men of Hmm 774

Ma'am,
My name is Sgt Wood. I received your letter today during mail call and figured I would send you an email. Its a little more reliable than the traditional snail mail. Id like to say thank you for taking time out of you busy schedule to write to a group of total strangers. It really does motivate us when we receive one of these letters. With all the news saying how more and more people are against the war and protesting our mission, it feels good to know that there is a god number of people who still support us. Thank you.
Just so you get to know a little bit about the people you are writing to, our unit is based out of Norfolk, Va. For many of us this is our second tour out here in the less than 2 years. Some of my Marines call Virginia home, while others call Maryland and New York home. I claim the state of Texas. GO LONGHORNS!! The area they have us in is good to go. Believe it or not, we have a small subway and pizza hut. Never thought I would be eating a meatball sub in the middle of a war zone. You wont hear me complaining about it. All we need now is a Colters BBQ and we are all set.
I have to keep this short. We hope to hear from you all again. Semper Fi!    Donald
