French Toast Sticks

Ingredients:
  • 8 slices whole grain bread
  • 5 ounces liquid or frozen egg substitute, thawed
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons skim milk
    Dash nutmeg
  • 1/3 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar

Preparation

  1. Slice each piece of bread into 4 slices.
  2. Mix egg substitute with milk.
  3. Blend spices with sugar and add to the egg mixture.
  4.  Dip bread pieces into egg mixture and cook on a heated nonstick skillet until golden brown.
  5. Serve with powdered sugar and/or syrup.

Makes 8 Servings
