Heart Smarts

You know working out helps your heart, here's why...

  • Research from the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta show that regular vigorous exercisers are about 47% less likely to have a high concentration of a protein that's a marker for blood vessel inflammation. ( a major factor in heart disease)

Yet another reason to work out (as if you need a reason)...

  • A study from  the University of Georgia in Athens shows that you can ward off physiological effects of stress such as soaring blood pressure. After having fitness levels measured and undergoing a series of stress tests, the fittest women had less dramatic jumps in systolic blood pressure, meaning lower risk for high pressure readings down the road.
