Vitamin A and Your Body

Vitamin A plays an important role in vision, bone growth, reproduction, cell division and cell differentiation, which is the process by which a cell decides what it is going to become. It also maintains the surface linings of your eye and your respiratory, urinary, and intestinal tracts. When those linings break down, bacteria can enter your body and cause infection. Vitamin A also helps your body regulate its immune system. The immune system helps prevent or fight off infections by making white blood cells that destroy harmful bacteria and viruses. Vitamin A also may help prevent bacteria and viruses from entering your body by maintaining the integrity of skin and mucous membranes.

There are few foods which naturally supply vitamin A Therefore supplementation of Vitamin A is very important.

  • Whole eggs,
  • whole milk, and
  •  liver

There are two ways to get Vitamin A in supplements.

  1.  Vitamin A or
  2.  Beta Carotene (which breaks down into Vitamin A-if the body requires it)
  3.  Vitamin A can be toxic at high levels. There is no known toxicity from the ingestion of large amounts of Beta Carotene.

Bio Fuel contains 7,500 I.U. of Vitamin A, 50% as Beta Carotene. Turbo Sport and Cal/Mag 100 use 100% Beta Carotene as their source of Vitamin A.
